Supplements (that is, names overlooked)

Combinations for Amphisiella faurei Dragesco, 1963 on page 8 in Berger (2001): Psammocephalus faurei (Dragesco, 1963) Wicklow, 1982; p. 319. Psammocephalus faurei (Dragesco, 1963) Wicklow, 1983; p. 2135.

Combination for Amphisiella lithophora Fauré-Fremiet, 1954b on page 8 in Berger (2001): Psammocephalus lithophora (Fauré-Fremiet, 1954) Wicklow, 1982; p. 320.

Combination for Cirrhogaster monilifer Ozaki and Yagiu, 1942 on page 15 in Berger (2001): Gastrocirrhus monilifer (Ozaki and Yagiu, 1942) Curds and Wu, 1983; p. 231.

Certesiidae Borror and Hill, 1995; p. 460 (established as family). Name-bearing type genus: Certesia Fabre-Domergue, 1885. Remarks: Jankowski (1979, p. 81) established the subfamily Certesiinae; thus, Borror and Hill (1995) only raised the rank. The correct authorship of the family is Certesiidae Jankowski, 1979.

Epiclintina Wicklow, 1983; p. 2135 (established as suborder). Name-bearing type genus: Epiclintes Stein, 1863.

Euplotes plicatum Valbonesi and Apone, 1997; p. 40A (species). Remarks: I am uncertain about the validity of this description (ICZN 1985, Article 9 (10), Article 13 (a). Later again described by Valbonesi, Apone and Luporini (1997; see Berger 2001, p. 25).

Combination for Holosticha (Holosticha) alveolata Kahl, 1932 on page 35 in Berger (2001): Pseudoamphisiella alveolata (Kahl, 1932) Song and Warren, 2000; p. 451, 452.

Oxytricha crassa Claparede and Lachmann, 1858 (see pages 53, 54 in Berger 2001) was classified as variety of Trichoda gibba Müller, 1786 (see page 92 in Berger 2001) by Kent (1882, p. 768) under the name Amphisia gibba var. crassa.

Combination for Oxytricha gibba Claparede and Lachmann, 1858 on page 55 in Berger (2001): Uroleptus gibbus (Claparede and Lachmann, 1858) Kent, 1882; p. 780 (as Uroleptus gibba; emended to Uroleptus gibbus by Kahl, 1932, p. 547 [as Uroleptus (Oxytricha) gibbus]).

Combination for Oxytricha urostyla Claparede and Lachmann, 1858 on page 65 in Berger (2001): Urostyla urostyla (Claparede and Lachmann, 1858) Kahl, 1932; p. 568.

Paraurostyla coronata Arora, Gupta, Kamra and Sapra, 1999; p. 133 (species).

Psammocephalus Wicklow, 1983; p. 2135 (genus). Type (original designation): Psammocephalus borrori Wicklow, 1983. Remarks: The valid original description was provided by Wicklow (1982; see Berger 2001, p. 75).

Psammocephalus borrori Wicklow, 1983; p. 2135 (species). Remarks: Type of Psammocephalus Wicklow, 1983. The valid original description was provided by Wicklow (1982; see Berger 2001, p. 76).

Trichoda ambigua Müller, 1786 on page 90 in Berger (2001): Bütschli (1889) transferred this species to Epiclintes on p. 1742 and in detail in the Legend to Tafel (= Plate) LXX. However, note that Trichoda ambigua Müller, 1786 is Spirostomum ambiguum (Müller, 1786) Ehrenberg, 1835; p. 165.

Further name for Uroleptus zignis Entz, 1884 on page 99 in Berger (2001): Urostyla zignis in Entz (1884, p. 443, Legend to Tafel 23, Fig. 14-16) is an incorrect, unintentional original assigment to Urostyla.
